Torus Heliosense came to Second Life in 2008 and was immediately drawn to creative expression through building. After learning the basic skills creating a variety of intricate steam punk objects for friends, he worked with Leesa Donner to create the Truthball, the first game of it's kind in Second Life.
His original Truthball design is now commonplace throughout the grid and has not only helped to bring fun and laughter to countless SL residents, but helped bring people together in new relationships. He went on to design dozens of specialized Truthball versions, culminating in the "Bound" line of BDSM Truthballs - bringing an edgier side to the Truthball brand.
In 2011, after realizing that none of the BDSM collars available conveyed the sense of beauty and connection he found in a D/s relationship, Torus created [Tethered] BDSM, and began designing artfully crafted artisan BDSM products, designed to make a submissive feel special.
His first collar, now called "The Original Valentine," was released on Valentine's day in 2011, and proved to be an immediate success. It was considered a missing piece in the SL/BDSM world - the first collar that was as pretty and intricate as the finest jewelry.
The unique perspective brought by [Tethered] was in creating collars that expressed the special connection between a Dom and a cared-for sub - a unique connection found in "extraordinary D/s relationships," which became the foundation of all [Tethered] products.
Today, after 8 years of successfully redefining BDSM products in Second Life, Torus & his partner Harley Heliosense still have the same pride in crafting elegant BDSM products that enhance in-world experiences and relationships.
In 2019, [Tethered] BDSM products were updated to be mesh avi compatible. Torus & Harley are now in the midst of creating a new mesh line, and continue creating significant products that enhance the BDSM community in Second Life.
